The Kansas City Royals are serving fans hot dogs in a new way

Kansas City, Mo. – The Royals have a new employee on the payroll.

Meet Frank.

Aramark Sports debuted a new mobile smart robot at Kauffman Stadium late last month.

A company called Tortoise HQ create a robot. The company creates robots and uses them to atomize the retail industry.

Frank is a self-contained hot dog vending machine with a tap and pay feature. It rolled around the stadium offering fans two bundles of hotdogs for less than $14.

The July 22nd game was the first time this technology was used in an outdoor sports stadium.

Royals said Frank operated remotely, but there is also a controller in the stadium, just in case Frank tries to give up hotdogs and try to get on the field for some baseball.
