Sonic is closing in Bonner Springs, but plans for a new location

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. – The Sonic Drive-in located in Bonner Springs, Kansas near the city limits of Edwardsville off Kansas Highway 32 announced late last week that it has closed its doors.

The fast food restaurant, which has been in its current location for more than 20 years, officially closed on Monday, August 15.

The store said it plans to open a new location in the next few years or so and that plan is in the works.

The store said customers can go to other locations in Basehor, Lansing and Tonganoxie.

“We will miss our great customers of Bonner spring and Edwardsville but we will be back stronger than ever,” the store said in a Facebook post last Friday.
