Kansas City, Mo. – Dozens of Kansas City-area grocery store locations will be open Thanksgiving Day for all the critical ingredients shoppers forgot to pick up before the celebration.
Price Chopper, Sun Fresh, and Hen House Market locations across the metro will all be open on the holiday.
The company said each store will be open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
The grocery store also has options for anyone who doesn’t like spending the day in the kitchen.
Hen House accepted order for Thanksgiving catering until November 20, order a turkey, or splurge for something different from prime rib.
Chopper price also offers to handle this Sukur cooking with different carryout options.
In past years Hy-Vee has also been open for part of Thanksgiving. The company announced last week it plans to close all of its locations to allow families and friends to spend more time together.
This is the first time Hy-Vee has closed all 285 of its retail locations for Thanksgiving, according to the company.

When it comes to big box retailers, Target announced last year that it will close stores on Thanksgiving for good.
Walmart also canceled opening its doors, announcing that it will be closed for Thanksgiving Day as it has been since the start of the pandemic.
