Founded in 2011, Martin City Brewing Co.
It is the latest installment in the craft factory’s five-year expansion. Martin City Brewing currently has six locations and produces about 10,000 barrels of beer a year.
Most brewery expansions happen during the pandemic, which is a gamble. But it has paid off, in part because the brewery pairs beer with stone-fired pizza from the attached kitchen.
“The last six months have been the hardest of my life, second only to six months during Covid,” Martin City owner. Matt Moore said. “I’m not looking to open all these locations back to back, but we’re getting closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Martin City Brewing is opening two locations this year: one at 9418 Missouri 7 Highway in Lake Lotawana under the new Station 7 brand, and a second traditional location at 8802 Renner Blvd. in the Lenexa City Center. Moore said he is very excited about the airport’s future location.
“I’m really excited about the future of the airport,” Moore said. “It should be a different location for us, put us on the world stage.”
