How to get your coupon

WICHITA, Kan. – Our ever-popular Target car seat exchange program comes once again.

Twice a year, Target collects old, used, expired, and damaged car seats in exchange for 20% off one car seat, one stroller, or select baby gear.

This fall’s Car Seat Trade-In takes place from Sept. 11-24. The coupon can be redeemed through October 8.

When you visit your local Target, you can find a large box near the front of the store where you can put your old car seat. You will then have the opportunity to redeem a 20% off coupon in your Target app or through

According to The BumpThose who use car seats for children can tell if it has expired by looking for a small, white sticker somewhere on the seat with the seat expiration date. The website says other brands have information printed somewhere on the seat’s plastic shell. The crash also offers information on where to find the date, listed by brand.

Materials from old car seats will be recycled through Waste Management to create new products such as pallets, plastic buckets, and construction materials.

“Target’s Car Seat Trade Show is one of the ways we work together to reach us Forward Target goal of zero waste to landfills in US operations by 2030,” reads Target Website.

Since 2016, 1.97 million car seats have been recycled, resulting in 29.6 million pounds of car seat material being recycled.
