Build KCI shows the progress of the terminal in a new video

Kansas City, Mo. – An exciting transformation is taking place at the new KCI Terminal.

The project is checked off the task list every month now that the crews are less than six months away from completing the massive project.

Build KCI shared a new video of all the progress that crews made in the past month, including a new parking garage and elevators leading to seven levels and thousands of parking spaces.

Crews are also hard at work on the arrivals roadway, overhang, and check-in hall all travelers will use in the new terminal.

Inside the building, signs have been installed and the roof with skylights has been completed. There are also signs directing travelers to gates and other amenities, such as quiet rooms for parents traveling with children, restrooms, and areas specifically designed for nursing mothers.

The new KCI terminal will also house a new concourse connector, or people mover, something that is not available in the current terminal. The connector will help travelers travel to and from different terminal areas quickly and efficiently.

The airport also showcased Concourse B and a new amenity point complete with phone chargers and other equipment.

Finally, the video shows off the new and improved baggage claim. It features several luggage carousels and a large area for travelers to wait for luggage.

The price tag on the project is estimated to cost $1.5 billion and is expected to open to the public in March 2023.
