AMC is extending $5 movie tickets on Tuesdays through January 31

LEAWOOD, Kan. – Tuesdays just get a lot better for families and movie fans.

Leawood-based AMC Theaters announced it will extend its $5 tickets on Tuesdays through the end of January.

The deal started in July and was scheduled to end in October.

Guests must be free members of the AMC Stubs program to qualify for the discount, and tax will be charged on each ticket.

To sweeten the deal, AMC also offers cheap food and drinks.

Every Tuesday guests can grab a small popcorn and either a 21 oz. ICEE® or small drink for an additional $5 plus tax.

That makes movie night at the AMC Theater about $10 a person.

Additional fees are charged for premium experiences such as IMAX and Dolby Cinema at AMC, but the company says it has set a base fee of $5 for those options, applicable on Discount Tuesday. Discounts too cannot be used in some instances such as private screenings, movie marathons or other fan events, a FAQ sheet shows.
